Spa Water

Culinary, Gardening and Herb Expert Rita Heikenfeld's Recipe

So refreshing, so beautiful, so healthy for you! The kind of refreshing health drink you would sip at a trendy spa. The lemon is a gentle liver cleanser, the mint helps your digestion, and the taste makes you want to drink up, so you stay hydrated and healthy. Stevia is a natural sugar substitute, up to hundreds of times sweeter than sugar, non-caloric and diabetic safe. It makes a beautiful and useful garden, and house, herb.

Spa Water Ingredients:

  • Pitcher
  • Mint leaves
  • Lemon and lime slices
  • Water
  • Stevia to sweeten - optional
  • Edible flowers or sliced berries

1. Fill the pitcher one quarter way up with mint leaves, bruising them gently with a wooden spoon as you go to release the volatile oils.

2. Add enough lemon and lime slices to go halfway to the top.

3. Add good quality water and stir.

4. Let infuse 30 minutes or so. Sweeten to taste with a few stevia leaves, again bruising the leaves gently as you add them or buy stevia at the grocery in granulated, liquid or powdered form.

5. Stir in a few rose petals or other edible flowers, or some berries, sliced if necessary.

6. Store in refrigerator, covered, for up to a day.

7. Strain before drinking.
