1. If you smoke STOP and get help through any one of a number of smoking cessation programs 
2. If your blood cholesterol, blood sugar or blood pressure are high get them down
3. Exercise for 30 minutes on most days
 4. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and olive oil; treat meat as a condiment, not an entree
 5. Maintain normal body weight

Pick your parents wisely (if you can manage that the Nobel Prize Committee will be knocking on your doorstep)
